Media Informatics

Media informatics is a practice-oriented technical and scientific discipline, which is characterised by a strong interdisciplinary reference to the various fields of media design and the production of digital media. Along with focussing on methods specific to informatics, media informatics also requires the understanding and ability to communicate with the bordering disciplines of media design and media production.

The development of comprehensively available MI technologies and the worldwide access to multimedia services through ever-increasing user groups, media informatics has opened up a market share which is growing worldwide. In the meantime in the various kinds of sectors, well-qualified experts are in great demand in a diverse range of positions.

Admission requirements​The admission requirements include a successfully completed Bachelor or Diploma degree in the media information technology field or a University level Bachelor or Diploma study programme in a comparable field that was completed with an overall grade of „good“ (2.5) or better, including 60 ECTS credits in the field of informatics.​
