Content

Topics include virtual set design for artificial or real scenes, hard- and software for digital (TV) studios, camera and actor tracking systems, motion capture, real time computer graphics and effects, separation of image elements (e.g. chroma keying), inserting of animations and virtual characters, as well as studio production planning.


Learning Outcomes

Successful participants will have a profound knowledge in building and developing virtual set environments for broadcasting applications and will be able to evaluate virtual studio (TV) technology.
Composition of video and computer graphics under live conditions for media
productions is an essential part.

Content

Human factors in virtual environments, display systems (e.g., stereo projection), layout and design of virtual environments, scence modeling (scenegraph based e.g., x3d), realtime rendering and special effects, tracking for user interaction, haptic, other sensory input, event handling, input devices, virtual acoustics as part of display systems, navigation in vr, avatars and synthetic characters, cad/cam integration, rapid prototyping based on vr, vr applications.


Learning Outcomes

Successful participants will have a profound knowledge in building and developing virtual environments and will be able to evaluate applications and systems based on vr technology.
