​Philipp Krieter studied Media Informatics at the University of Bremen and the State University of New York at Buffalo and subsequently completed a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Bremen.

This was followed by a doctorate in mathematics and computer science at the University of Bremen and Stockholm University. During his doctorate, Philipp Krieter worked as a junior researcher and consultant in research projects at ifib - Institut für Informationsmanagement GmbH and various IT consulting projects at ifib consult GmbH.

He then gained in-depth experience as a senior researcher and consultant as well as technical manager of a project to implement AI support for learning and teaching at the University of Bremen as part of the German government's national AI strategy “AI Made in Germany”.

After working as a manager in the area of open source software compliance and digital ethics at PricewaterhouseCoopers Gmbh WPG (PwC), he accepted the position of Professor of Computer Science at IU's Cologne campus in the summer semester of 2023.

Since April 2025, Philipp Krieter has been Professor of Computer Science with a focus on teaching and research on mobile applications at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.
